Where Lucilla is Available

Lucilla is a stablecoin-based fitness rewards platform. Because both stablecoin payments and skill-based fitness contests have different legal treatment in different countries, the app's availability is limited to jurisdictions where these activities are clearly permitted.

1. Countries where Lucilla is available

The app is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Solana dApp Store in the following countries (subject to change at any time as local laws evolve):

2. Countries where Lucilla is NOT available

The app is not currently available for download in the following countries. The reasons range from cryptocurrency restrictions, gambling prohibitions, US/EU sanctions, or local laws that make a stablecoin fitness rewards product impractical or unsafe to operate. We may re-enable any of these as the legal landscape changes.

3. United States — state-level restrictions on paid matches

Even within the United States, the rules around paid skill-based fitness contests vary by state. Lucilla treats step matches and walking challenges as commitment contracts: the user's payout is determined entirely by their own physical activity, not by chance — the same legal framework used by StepBet and HealthyWage.

To stay on the safe side of every state's interpretation, Lucilla automatically disables paid matches (matches with a USDC stake) for users physically located in the following US states. Free matches, fitness tracking, USDC rewards from sponsoring businesses, and all other app features remain fully available in these states.

The location check is performed using CoreLocation (iOS) and Google Play Location Services (Android) at the moment the user attempts to enter a paid match. If a user travels into one of these states, paid matches become unavailable until they leave. The full list of geofenced states is maintained in our open code at lib/services/geo_restriction_service.dart.

4. Age restriction

Lucilla is restricted to users 18 and older everywhere it is available. Age is verified during onboarding via a self-attested date of birth and, for paid matches, via document-based identity verification (KYC) where required by law.

5. How this list is enforced

App Store availability — countries listed in Section 2 are excluded in App Store Connect (Apple) and Google Play Console. Users in those countries cannot download the app.
In-app geofence — for users in available countries, the app performs a real-time location check before any paid match flow and blocks entry if the user is in a restricted US state. See Section 3.
Server-side double-check — Cloud Functions that process paid match payments also validate the request's source country and reject if it is on the excluded list.
KYC at the wallet layer — Circle Modular Wallet KYC enforces additional jurisdictional rules at the stablecoin level. Users in sanctioned regions cannot complete wallet onboarding.

6. Changes to this list

Lucilla, Inc. may add or remove countries and states from this list at any time, with or without notice, based on changes in local law, regulatory guidance, or risk assessment. The version of this page at lucilla.ca/availability is the canonical source.
